This is an exciting full-time opportunity based in south-west Adelaide, combining office-based coordination with involvement across active project sites.

The role sits within a well-established communications and infrastructure business delivering critical connectivity solutions across South Australia. Projects span complex electrical and communications works supporting transport, utilities, government, and private sector clients. You’ll work closely with engineering, workshop, and field teams to ensure projects are planned effectively and delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office-based role in an inner south-western suburb with regular site involvement
  • Conduct site visits to collect information and plan upcoming works
  • Provide practical input to the Engineering team to support electrical designs
  • Review electrical designs with a focus on buildability and efficiency
  • Manage electrical rack builds within the workshop environment
  • Prepare teams, materials, tools, and plant for site mobilisation

Site Supervision & Delivery

  • Supervise electrical works on site to deliver the agreed scope
  • Lead and manage a small team of electricians and trades
  • Coordinate directly with clients and other stakeholders on site
  • Ensure works are delivered safely on time, and within budget
  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance with safety requirements

Hours & Remuneration

  • Base salary around $150,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
  • Salary based on a standard 38-hour work week (minimum guaranteed remuneration)
  • Site-based role with variable hours, including extended site days of up to 12 hours when required

An established organisation delivering complex telecommunications and infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Engineering to lead its South Australian engineering function. 

This is a senior working-leadership role, combining people management with hands-on engineering across a diverse portfolio of wired and wireless communication systems and infrastructure projects.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for the end-to-end design, delivery and support of complex communication solutions. You will work closely with project management, field operations, technical support and regional leadership to ensure engineering outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.

The role is predominantly office-based, with occasional site visits for leadership, coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the South Australian engineering team
  • Provide technical direction, oversight and assurance across projects
  • Manage engineering resources, capacity and workload allocation
  • Oversee the full engineering lifecycle including design, procurement, configuration, testing, commissioning and handover
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Lead engineering meetings, design reviews and Safety in Design processes
  • Review and approve technical documentation
  • Manage engineering change and risk
  • Provide engineering input into estimates, proposals and schedules for future work
  • Mentor and develop engineers through structured training and coaching
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Undertake hands-on engineering design work where required
  • Promote a strong safety, quality and collaboration culture

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronic, Communications or similar)
  • Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership (MIEAust); CPEng highly regarded
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in professional engineering roles
  • At least 5 years’ experience leading and managing engineering teams
  • Experience in Telecommunications, Mining, Oil & Gas, Defence or similar industries
  • Strong understanding of engineering design and delivery processes
  • Experience delivering both small and large projects
  • Exposure to underground communications solutions (highly regarded)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities
