Mergent have an immediate requirement for qualified and experienced Boilermakers, Coded Welders and Mechanical Fitters to join their clients team for an extended, planned shutdown based North of Adelaide, South Australia.

Interstate applicants are encouraged to express your interests with multiple positions available - domestic flights provided from all major cities in Australia. 

Dates: August 2025 with dates TBC.

  • Must be available for the duration.
  • If unable to work entire 40 day duration, you may still be considered to work a flexible roster.

Multiple Positions Available: We are currently seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the following roles:

Coded Welders:

  • Perform welding tasks in compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Interpret welding procedures and specifications.
  • Execute welding techniques with precision and consistency.
  • Collaborate within a team to achieve project objectives.

Boilermakers: 

  • Conduct repairs, maintenance, and fabrication tasks on industrial equipment and structures.
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team to ensure project milestones are met.

Fitters:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work with various tools and precision instruments.
  • Work closely with a team to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualifications in Boilermaking, and Fitters.
  • Proven experience in industrial settings and shutdown projects.
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and individually.
  • Clean Shaven.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to division Supervisors to drive and support the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct monthly reviews with Supervisors to monitor progress on KPIs.
  • Adapt to changing operational needs and demonstrate flexibility by working overtime or additional shifts when reasonably requested by management.
  • Proactively manage workgroup activities to ensure operational efficiency and profitability, including monitoring timekeeping and addressing any issues as needed.
  • Oversee the division’s monthly KPI performance — track, review, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the yard and workshop areas.
  • Provide support for supervisors when giving disciplinary action within workgroup.
  • Manage recruitment process for division, Liaise with HSEC and Office manager to ensure process is followed.
