A leading Indigenous-owned contractor delivering building and maintenance services across the Olympic Dam region is seeking an experienced Building Coordinator to join its growing team.
This opportunity is ideal for a qualified carpenter or builder who has moved (or is ready to move) into an office-based role, using strong trade knowledge to coordinate works, manage trades and ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
About the Role:
As the Building Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in planning and coordinating building and maintenance projects across multiple work fronts. Acting as the central point between site, office and stakeholders, you’ll ensure work is delivered efficiently, safely and in line with all regulatory requirements.
This role offers autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine impact — without being on the tools every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scoping, quoting and tendering for building repairs and new works
- Coordinating trades, labour resources and work schedules
- Ordering materials and managing procurement
- Managing job close-outs and supporting invoicing
- Ensuring compliance with building codes, safety and quality standards
- Obtaining permits, approvals and clearances prior to commencement
- Liaising with suppliers, supervisors and internal stakeholders
- Identifying efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Trade qualified Carpenter or minimum 5 years’ experience in building or construction
- Strong background in construction, maintenance or project coordination
- Solid understanding of building methods, materials and compliance
- Computer literate and comfortable working in an office environment
- Organised, proactive and solutions-focused
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical
